REPORT- CONSTITUTION DAY CELEBRATIONS,
2015

The first
Constitution day was celebrated on 26th
November 2015 by the Department of Social Science in
association with the ‘Nakshatra’ Baalajana Sakhyam in a very befitting way, as per the
guidelines given by KVS.
·
In the common
morning assembly where the full school was present, the programme was started
with an awareness about the day followed by garlanding the photo of Dr. B R
Ambedkar by the In-charge Principal: Smt. Usha Natarajan. Then the
Social Science Teacher Sri. A Abdul Shumz briefed about the importance
of the day and also read the Preamble of the Constitution for the staff and students. Sri. Abdul Shumz
administered the pledge for all. All staff and students repeated the pledge.

In the assembly a
skit was conducted on the importance of unity between different
religions(communal harmony and Secularism), an ideal taken from the
constitution, by 8 students of class 8C. The teacher in charge was Mrs.
Shailaja. The students participated were: Aswin KA, Snehal S, Adithya PK, Arya
KR, Surya S, Prasoon MP, KArthik R, Jithin M, Dheeraj, Abhijith C Raja

An essay writing
competition was conducted on 25th Nov. on the topic: ‘relevance of the constitution in a
democracy’ by Mrs. Leena Mukundan, TGT SSt. 30 students participated and the prize winners
are: ANANTHALAKSHMI , 9 C and MANEESHA, 10 B ( first), MONISHA 9 B (second) and
SREEVIDHYA 9 B ( third).

An online quiz
was initiated by Mr. Mujib Rahman and Mr. Pradeep Raveendran in the computer
lab. Full students of class 9 ABC & D participated along with the others
registered. The winners are: RAKESH R NAIR, 10 B ( first), AFRID SULFICAR,10 B
(second), ASWIN, 10 B and SANDESH S, 10 A (third).

The formal
inauguration of the constitution day celebration was conducted at 1.30 PM in the multi-purpose hall after
giving a Guard of honour by the band troop to the Chief Guest: Second
Addititonal District Judge. The Principal in charge Mrs. Usha N presided. After
the prayer by Lakshmi priya and party
Usha N welcomed the chief guest. The Second Addititonal District Judge of
Palakkad: Sri. Suresh Kumar Paul inaugurated by lighting the lamp. In his
Inagural address he insisted on upholding the principles of the Indian
Constitution by the students in the present day scenario. The Section Officer and in-charge of the Dist. Legal Services Authority, Sri.
Radhakrishnan R proposed the vote of thanks. The secretary of the Taluk Legal
Services Committee: Sri. Balasubramaniam was present along with a senior
Advocate Mrs. K Vijaya.

After the inauguration, Advocate Smt. K Vijaya
led a session on the features of the Indian Constitution. She concentrated on
the cyber crimes and punishments and also the Anti ragging provisions in
educational institutions.
