‘BE THE BEST’

KANJIKODE:

A special talk was conducted on the topic “ be the best” by Mr. Vijayan Menon, an IAS trainee for the selected students of the +2  classes. A prominent teacher from the Indian Institute of management, Mr. Menon urged the students to be best in your life, but best is necessarily not to be first always. We should try to be best in our identity with the rest. There should be a purpose in life for all. And we should try to make our life meaningful with some creativity. It should be a quest with a higher meaning. Learn to respect life, but respect all forms of life. Students should have a depth of thought but be selfless.

Mr. Vijayan Menon stressed on the necessity to show respect for food and highlighted that they should pray before taking it. He also insisted on the need to give alms to the needy and poor in society. Our life should have a higher purpose.

The programme was organized in association with the Sathya Sai Seva Samithi of Palakkad in the multi purpose hall of the vidyalaya.  The special session was presided by the Principal of the Vidyalaya Mr. KP Ravidas who introduced the chief guest and welcomed the gathering.   Mr. AM Prabhakaran, president of the Samithi addressed the students and appealed them to donate a handful of rice to help the less privileged in the society. The world does not need charity. But we should offer all help to others. The students whole heartedly accepted this and decided to pour rice in three buckets kept by the seva samithi as a noble gesture to help the poor people by saving a few grains of rice from their food.

The vice principal of the vidyalaya KVVSRS Lakshmi proposed vote of thanks.  Selected 280 students of the senior classes attended the special session along with a team of teachers.
